Study Visit To The Board Of Audit And Inspection Of Republic Of Korea (BAI)
DAG Rina, Acting AUD Christopher, SAD Wen Yong, AD Yingli and AD Jia Qi visited the Board of Audit and Inspection of the Republic of Korea (BAI), on 1 and 2 September 2022. The purpose of this study visit was to learn more about BAI’s digital and technological transformation strategy including the IT systems developed by BAI and BAI’s manpower development plans.
On the first day of the visit, the delegation made a courtesy call on one of the Commissioners of BAI, Mr Yu Hee-Sang. Commissioner Yu provided an overview of BAI and elaborated on BAI’s role in building a fair and clean society. During the courtesy call, the delegation also shared on AGO, including AGO’s independence and duties, and the work that AGO performs.
This was followed by a seminar on BAI’s digital audit journey. During the seminar, Mr Kim Taeick (Director, Information Division) shared on the various systems that support BAI’s audits.
On the second day, Ms Kang Minjoo (Auditor, HR Division) introduced the delegation to BAI’s Audit Capacity Building and Personnel System. This included the recruitment processes, performance evaluations and the Specialist Management System which aims to recruit and develop people with expertise and potential in specific fields that caters to future audit and public demands.
