South African Parliament's Standing Committee visited AGO

The South African delegation with AGO representatives
On 26 June 2026, the Parliament of South Africa’s Standing Committee on the Auditor-General Chairman, Mr Wouter Wynand Wessels, led a delegation from the Committee to visit AGO. The delegation was met by AG Wai Choong, DAG Rina, Acting GRD Cherrie and Dir Paul.
The meeting began with presentations by Actg GRD Cherrie on an overview of AGO and by Dir Paul on AGO's digital transformation journey. This was followed by a lively discussion covering a range of topics, including AGO's approach to digital transformation and AI adoption, governance matters, and how Singapore had built its public accountability framework over the decades. The delegation also shared insights on the profile and operations of the Auditor-General of South Africa.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for both SAIs to exchange perspectives on digital transformation and public sector auditing.
