Meeting with the European Parliament’s Budgetary Control Committee (CONT Committee)

On 23 September 2026, a delegation from the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT) met with AGO for an exchange of views on public sector audit, accountability and anti-fraud practices.

The meeting was attended by AAG Mabel and AAG Wai Yee, together with GRD Winston, DD Jit Hin and SAD John. DD Jit Hin provided an overview of AGO’s role and work, while GRD Winston shared on Singapore’s public sector anti-fraud ecosystem and AGO’s fraud-related work. SAD John then shared on the digital tools used by AGO to support the detection of anomalous transactions and potential fraud risks.

This was followed by an engaging discussion covering a range of topics, including the follow-up of audit findings, approaches to identifying and addressing fraud risks, access to data for audit, and the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in audit work.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for AGO and CONT to exchange perspectives and experiences on strengthening public accountability, addressing fraud risks and leveraging technology to support public sector audit.
